Steve Kinnard has outlines and measurements of a '32 he took while the guitar was in for repairs...Actually I think, somewhere in here, Steeve posted photos of the guitars interior.
Hope this helps
the L-00 has B/S from the opportunity grade EIR from Allied. The top is Lutz from Shane. This is not Shane's best grade either.
Thanks, Dave. Man, all three of those guitars look great! Everybody's gonna start using "bargain" wood when they see that L-OO!

Serge,
If Steve cannot locate the drawings, I'll figure out a way to copy and send to you. Just let me know.

Serge, let me pick on you a bit.
You should refer to these guitars as "L-00" and not just 00, because when you say 00, most people think you are talking about a Martin 00, which is a different guitar!

The L-00 is my best seller, in both 14 and 12 fret models a great guitar.

Guys--you are confusing me with my brother. (Which works out well for me, but for him, well....)
HE was the one that did the work on the old L-OO.
My experience with little guitars is with a Martin 00, and a Martin #1. Both beautiful little guitars, but some different than the Gibson.

Steve

Thanks Hesh, Now if only I can increase sales My personal Favorite is the 12 fret. as you can see in the pictures I shifted the soundhole back so I still get 19 fret in all and have found that on the L-00, especially the 12 fret models, a larger sound hole, 4 1/8", works the best. I use a 24.9" scale on my 12 fret models and 25.4" on the 14 fret models.

Thanks Arvey,
Rare to recieve info about increase/decrease size of soundhole.
Am I correct in the assumption that origionals did not sport addi tops?
The L-OO is very closely associated with Robert Johnson
Hesh, I think the guitar most linked with R.J. is the earlier, round-bottom L. The later model is the one that people have been rediscovering in the last 10 years or so. Santa Cruz Guitars made a small batch at one time, and had to bring it back later by popular demand!
The L-OO was very light in weight which led to the situation today where very few untouched/unrepaired L-OOs survive since they had a tendency to fold/implode......
which was why mine was only $25. The top and back were "re-assembled" with contact cement!

I just finished up a black walnut/redwood L-00 to take up to a festival next weekend. I took a few quick pics for you folks- it's a 14 fret neck made of cherry, and a rounded cutaway because I like that.
These guitars are some of the best-kept secrets of the guitar-builders' craft. Everyone always builds the Martin style and not many folks use this shape, but that's changing!

And here's the back...the walnut set had some sapwood, and a few stress marks and even a couple of worm holes...but it has a lot of character.

Hi Mark
That's a beauty for sure. Gotta love those L-00's.
